Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko!
Tomo Aizawa and Junichirou "Jun" Kubota are the tightest bros you'd ever see. They roughhouse and spar, but through thick and thin, they've got each other's back. Yet, there's just one small problem: Tomo is in love with Jun! Since she was young, tomboyish Tomo has been just another one of the guys; due to his extreme muscle-brained nature, Jun doesn't notice any of her advances—not even when she explicitly confesses. To add insult to injury, for the longest time, he didn't even realize that she was a girl.

This didn't as I thought I thought it would given the premise. Dry humor but humorous all the same. Watchable without being too much fan service.

This is one of my favourites this season. the characters are actually fairly deep, despite the fact that on the surface, they are archtypes. Tomo is a tomboy type, but she clearly wants to be more feminine (or at least acknowledged as such). Other characters also expand beyond the expected tropes as the show goes on. As well, I like the animation style. It looks crisp and fairly detailed. All in all, highly recommended.

Refreshing high school romcom where the tomboy is actually a tomboy by the Western definition of the term. But as Tomo matures, has to fight against her friends and father's perceptions; she's a woman, and wants to be treated as such, especially by her male childhood friend, Jun. Her best friend only sees her as "just one of the guys", though, and Tomo also has the years of conditioning as the heir to her father's dojo. Her female friend can see everything from the outside looking in, and is trying to subtly help both as matchmaker. Art and animation are serviceable, the comedy and writing are pretty good, and the female characters are good looking without being overly sexualized. A very competently done show.
