Kowloon Generic Romance
In the distant future, individuals who adore the old way of life live in Kowloon Walled City—a slum city that serves as a refuge for those who long for the Hong Kong of the past. Realtor Reiko Kujirai, however, craves for the new and exciting places in the area. In contrast, her only coworker, Hajime Kudou, enjoys the nostalgia the city invokes and is put off by anything modern that seeps past its walls. But despite their differing views and constant bickering on the most mundane of things, the two often find themselves enjoying each other's company. One day, a prank gone wrong leads Hajime to make an unexpected advance toward Reiko, after which he swiftly apologizes for. Baffled by his actions, Reiko starts investigating for possible explanations, only to discover a past that she has no memory of.
Dans un futur lointain, des individus qui adorent l'ancien mode de vie vivent dans la ville fortifiée de Kowloon, un bidonville qui sert de refuge à ceux qui aspirent au Hong Kong du passé. L'agent immobilier Reiko Kujirai, cependant, a soif de découvrir les endroits nouveaux et passionnants de la région. En revanche, son seul collègue, Hajime Kudou, apprécie la nostalgie que suscite la ville et est rebuté par tout ce qui est moderne et qui s'infiltre au-delà de ses murs. Has the nostalgia with the 90's retro feel. Surprised twist at the end threw me off. I wasn't expecting this to be a mystery. Maybe I should watch the rest of this to find out who the look alike is.

The character art has this great, late eighties, retro look to it. The food dishes are properly Chinese, in keeping with the location setting.

I guess it might get kind of annoying when you're just trying to make some time with your crush and suddenly reality isn't quite as real as it should be -- or even worse, you aren't. But I might watch this one again even so.
