I think I'm spoiled by Kill La Kill. This proberly would have been much more enjoyable if it had half of Kill la Kill's bombast but I found the first episode of Zvedza to be painfully slow and pedestrian.

Good action and animation. Has comical moments. Fan-service is sometimes cringeworthy.

I guess the magical girls had to take on the miltary sooner or later. Of course, if they're hot witches with awe-inspiring cleavage I'd expect them to win. If they're just teenagers with long swords and short skirts, it seems less likely. But when the conquest is the dream of a seven-year-old megalomanic on a pink bicycle with training wheels that solidly in the territory of surreal. I totally hate saying this but I want to watch more of it.
Michael Eh?
Weird does cover this. Surreal insane character designs ... anyone CRAZY enough to cosplay this screwed up crew of revolutionaries? O_O
Other than that, Zvezda has it charms and characters. A good show to forget logic and kill 20 minutes while we wait for more Kill la Kill.
