Girly Air Force
Mysterious flying creatures known as Zai suddenly appear, and in order to fight the creatures, mankind creates fighter aircraft called "Daughters," as well as the automatic fighting mechanism "Anima," which are shaped like human girls. The story centers on a young man named Kei Narutani, who yearns to fly in the sky, and an Anima considered to be humanity's trump card, a girl name Gripen.
De mystérieuses créatures volantes connues sous le nom de Zai apparaissent soudainement et, pour combattre ces créatures, l’humanité crée un avion de combat appelé "Filles", ainsi que le mécanisme de combat automatique "Anima", qui ont la forme de filles humaines. Oh, what to say? This show is a very common premise (harem anime!) with an odd twist (the girls are planes!)
I guess the closest thing to this is Infinite Stratos, in that we also had a harem anime with girls piloting machines. Except this time, the girls are machines (sort of) piloting other machines.
It is definitely distinct, if nothing else. Although, that's mostly in the same sense of being surprised by a "daylight charge accross the minefield" since it's definately not a commonly used tactic.

not bad, but i get the feeling that this rather arbitrary-seeming premise is gonna wind up as a harem anime.

I think it was a great episode. It reminds me of a game I us to play on my Xbox 360. Cant what for more episodes and I love fairy tail. And love Sword Art Online. And ghost slayer, Naruto and Pokémon and digimon, bayblade backugon. And this club to thumbs up for sure.
