Springtime at Kimberly Magic Academy brings a new batch of first-year students, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as they begin their journey to become full-fledged mages. Among these newcomers are Oliver Horn, a studious boy equally skilled with the wand and the blade, and Nanao Hibiya, a strong-willed samurai girl from the distant nation of Yamatsu.
The wheels of fate bring these two souls together at Kimberly, where they become both comrades and rivals in equal measure. However, lurking within the academy’s halls are countless dangers and dark secrets guaranteed to threaten not only their friendship but their very lives.

Le printemps à la Kimberly Magic Academy amène un nouveau groupe d'étudiants de première année, tous aux yeux brillants et à la queue touffue, alors qu'ils commencent leur voyage pour devenir des mages à part entière. Parmi ces nouveaux venus se trouvent Oliver Horn, un garçon studieux aussi doué avec la baguette qu'avec la lame, et Nanao Hibiya, une fille samouraï volontaire de la lointaine nation de Yamatsu.

Michael Eh?

Okay, another rip off of Harry Potter, nothing to see here... if you thought so, you be wrong. For once, we get gorgeous animation with solid voice acting. Sure it's your usual set of anime characters ... except the execution of this story is SO FLAWLESS. So many ways, JC Staff could have just done the job and scored a perfect score but they went the extra mile and turned this cliche story line into a real season show stopper. Well done, this is how opening episodes should be done. It seems all the animation studios are stepping out of their comfort zones to make a mark this season.

From the first ten minutes ... I get Fairy Tail vibes. Introducing with full names is rather convenient.
