Huh, so this is what Gen Urobuchi's working on now. No complaints though, the puppets are gorgeous, the camera work is great and really helps to hide most of the technical issues with trying to move puppets in a realistic fashion, the soundtrack by Hiroyuki Sawano is overdramatic and fits the action to a T, and the characters are instantly interesting right off the bat. Yeah, the story so far is kinda typical for a Wuxia style show but I'm having way too much fun watching the amazing imagery and direction to really care. | |||

Shocked at the production quality of this show... not just CGI but also set design. Everything is built. The plot line is tried and true but fun to watch. This form of puppetry has been used to centuries but with advent of television it has really taken a new life. Every anime fan needs to watch Thunderbolt Fantasy at least once.
