Kyoukai no Kanata
Kyoukai no Kanata

Mirai is a first-year high school student with the ability to manipulate blood, an ability that is unique even in the spirit world. This ability causes her to be isolated, leading her to jump off the roof of the high school until she is saved by Akihito. Akihito is a second-year high school student who is half-human and half-yomu who heals quickly from any wound he receives.

Complicated romance ... complicated that one wants to kill the other and the other can't die. The story doesn't seem to go anywhere. I felt the background music could have added moer atmosphere in some areas rather than deadpan silence as two awkward souls try to sort out their lifes.

One of my favorites of the fall 2013 season and one of Kyoto Animation's darker works, though it has yet to hit darkness and despair of Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid. This is definitely not a series that you can form an opinion on, based on the first episode alone. You need to at least finish the 4th episode to see the full picture. In a nutshell though, think Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai if the characters really did have special powers.

Doug

This has only three characters, but that's enough when they're all well-drawn, quirly and seriously goofy. Better still, with the dark fantasy setting, I can tell that neither chills nor laughs will be scarce.

a charming series with a schizoid flaire. alternates between humourous and violently grim. quality production values too.

Yahya

I like it, characters are funny, no fillers at first episodes and does not bother with boring details.
