Okay, what if you took [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Fighter_G-Gundam G-Gundam] and remade it without the over-the-top elements and in the quasi-hyper-realistic mode of Evangelion? What would you get? Gigantic Forumla IS that show. Well animated, presented in a weird realistic style, and actually pretty engaging, this show really grabbed me in a way I wasn’t expecting it to. I was expecting same-old, and got “same-old with a twist”. Now, whether it can continue to keep my attention past the first episode is another matter. Oh? The plot? For those who haven’t seen G-Gundam, the basic idea is that every country in the world that can builds a giant robot champion which participates in a global fight to the finish to see which country gets to be king of the resources or something. Obviously, this is the story of Japan’s entry. (duh!) I loved G-Gundam for it’s over-the-top-ness, and it will be interesting to see how it works in a more realistic mode. (For example, rival countries are trying to kill each other’s top pilots through espionage before the fight even begins!) | Okay, what if you took [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Fighter_G-Gundam G-Gundam] and remade it without the over-the-top elements and in the quasi-hyper-realistic mode of Evangelion? Okay, what if you took G-Gundam and remade it without the over-the-top elements and in the quasi-hyper-realistic mode of Evangelion? What would you get? Gigantic Forumla IS that show.
