Flying Witch - Manga
Kowata Makoto is an airhead with a bad sense of direction who just moved into her relative's house but is that all? A manga about the coming of age of a witch in modern day japan.

At first you think this would be a modern version of Kiki's Delivery Service but it draws more heavily from Harry Potter than Kiki. It does do away with the talking animal to just Makoto can understand her cat, Shade's meowing. Magic is kept to minimal scenes where as the mangaka tend to draw on folklore more. The slice of life of northern town of Shimoyuguchi fits into the backgrounds of large town. Humour is a little dry at times but still laid back compared to action paced this type of story usually gets to be. Worth finding for the read. Hard to say it will keep my attention though.
