Prism Rondo
In early-1900s London, Lili Ichijouin, a Japanese exchange student travels to England to enroll in the prestigious Saint Thomas Art Academy. Determined to become a painter, she arrives under pressure: her parents expect her to rise to the top of her class within six months or return home. Lili's drive intensifies when she encounters Kit Church, a gifted aristocratic student known for his talent and detachment. While Kit has devoted himself entirely to painting, Lili's sincerity and resilience begin to shift something in him. The two share little beyond their love for art, yet their relationship quickly becomes central to life at the academy.
Au début du XXe siècle à Londres, Lili Ichijouin, une étudiante japonaise en échange universitaire, arrive en Angleterre pour intégrer la prestigieuse Académie des Beaux-Arts Saint Thomas. Déterminée à devenir peintre, elle arrive sous pression : ses parents attendent d'elle qu'elle devienne première de sa promotion en six mois, sinon elle devra retourner au pays. La motivation de Lili s'intensifie lorsqu'elle rencontre Kit Church, un étudiant aristocrate surdoué, réputé pour son talent et son détachement. Historical art school romance is definitely not what I usually look for, but I have to admit that the characters grew on me; so I would happily watch two or three more episodes.

Nice art style, though the eyes can be a bit intense in a full frontal view. Never been a fan of Anne of Green Gables, but I think I could get into this one, as far as Victorian fiction goes. Adds a bit of familial conflict to raise the stakes. Might be interesting.

Beautifully animated and voiced. Background music a little weak but ambience over all was good. It is a good turn of the century story without getting too stuck in the past.
