With Japan having developed as a maritime nation, it becomes necessary to have specialized schools to teach skills essential to protect the sea. The setting is one such all-girls school. The girls who enroll here study to become blue mermaids through classroom instruction and learning practical skills. They live by the motto: In the sea we live, the sea we protect, and by the sea we go. They must excel in their studies and also adopt an international mindset. They are the Elite of the Sea, who are expected to be knowledgeable of the customs and cultures of other countries as well as their own.

a slight twist on a very familiar premise. pretty average.

Girls and Ships. especially 14 year olds... HELP!

Somebody seems to think that warships and school girls more interesting or vice versa.. they don't. Or that a high school navy is as plausible as a magic academy - it's not. Or that a viewer like me wants to watch yet another show about high school kids - I don't.

Michael Eh?

So-so. Built off a standard school drama plot which has worn thin with time. Change of scenery doesn't do anything for this show except for assumed mutiny, a back stabbing instructor and school girls running a multi-million dollar battle cruiser. Honestly. Sea cadets are not like this nor will be.
