Popular high school student Suwa Daisuke has no interest in dating newcomer Aikawa Hinako, a quiet loner. That's because she recoiled from his flirtatious touch, and he took it as a personal affront. Daisuke informs one of his buddies that he wouldn't date her, not knowing Hinako was listening. Daisuke's attitude changes after he accidentally hears her confession in an abandoned church; she's been sexually abused by her stepfather and has given up a child for adoption. His former annoyance turns to compassion and concern. Hinako is unaware that he knows her terrible secret. Believing him to have no romantic interest, she becomes more relaxed and comfortable in his company. Their relationship faces a lot of obstacles, including jealous classmates.

Ok, get ready for the drama.. I hated this manga... but I LOVE it! now I bet you just went.. 'wait.. wha?' I shall explain, This manga is tragic yet beautifully so, the plot is well formed and the characters are (in my opinion) fairly relate-able to anyone thats had to deal with being considered 'outcast' from the people around them. This is one of the worst scenario's but the author uses that to there advantage. So why do I hate it, because it tugs really deeply at the strings of your heart, and yet all you can do is sit and read your way though this twisted tragically beautiful tale the author has created, there were a lot of moments I wanted to bop my computer on the head and yell "NO THATS NOT HOW IT GOES!!!" and even more times that felt like I'd almost cry because the author does such an amazing job of getting the reader to become part of the story itself. There were a few parts that I did smile at, and one or two places that I found funny, but overall this is a really serious written manga, I feel it does a good job of bringing up what goes on in school's and how judging someone because they don't socialize as much as you can have shocking effects when you realize the real reason they acted that way to begin with. Though I am in a massive Love/Hate relationship with this manga it defiantly makes it into my list of recommended reading, though I will say this don't force yourself to read it if you really just can't handle it.
